“ TOUTE CROISSANCE NAÎT DANS L'INCONFORT ”

– Grègór Belibi Minya

In Grègór's work, it is memory that resonates, it is the common thread I have sought so much, the force that binds what initially appears disparate, that strange and mysterious dimension that accompanies us throughout our lives. It is both personal and collective, individual and universal, much like Grègór's entire body of work. Memory, the deepest and most abstract form, is a trace, an imprint left on our being that persists. This trace, whether physical, emotional, or spiritual, is always powerful and significant. It becomes a reminder of our existence, answering questions like « who are we? » « where do we come from? » « what have we experienced? » It gives substance to our existence, it is a quest for meaning and direction.

In this serie, color and movement serve this purpose. Color animates, stimulates, and propels us into these moments of life, into these gaps. Movement awakens this memory, it stages it, makes it dynamic, alive, and dance. The lines of energy he deploys on the canvas become evidence of the interactions he has recorded, stored in his memory – they represent moods, states of mind, behaviors that he etches into his paintings, drawings, and compositions, which have become extensions of his memory.

Here, revealed to everyone, it is no longer a matter of clumsiness, shyness, or caution, but of transparency and assurance, as mastery and finesse of the gesture stand before me. This precious memory, on some occasions, becomes a vulnerability, a gap, a trace of pain, an error that Grègór does not pretend to bury. On the contrary, these vulnerabilities become fertile ground, a place and moment of personal growth, healing, and transformation that gradually brings us closer to our true nature.

This process unfolds cyclically in Grègór's work, where this connection becomes a driving force, a creative biomimicry that now places humanity in a broader ecosystem. It is no longer an individual memory; this time it is collective and universal, developing within the dynamic voids that the artist exploits throughout his work, much like quantum voids in constant interaction in which everything we experience is somehow memorized.

In his work, memory ultimately appears as a force in all aspects of our lives. Grègór exploits and rehabilitates it through religion, nature, family, but also through his own internal structures, through his voids and faults. Grègór reveals and frees us at the same time, becoming both a part of and the whole, embodying a subtle duality in his work in which his personal experience becomes a universal quest.
